What Is Yoga
Yoga is more than the asana. We are presented with opportunities at least once a day to take the lessons learned on our mat into the world.
Yoga means union. Creating unity requires you acknowledging your bias and challenging your thoughts and actions every day.
Some examples include:
- Writing letters to your local officials to get unjust policy changed
- Passionately speaking with your friends and family when they express a racist/discriminate idea
- Teaching your children how to identify inequality and teaching them how to stand up for their peers in all spaces.
- Going to the polls at every election and voting for candidates who will use their power to create antiracist policy
The examples above are just a few measurable actions you can take to create unity in your day to day life.
