3 Ways To Establish and Stick to Healthy Habits

With the 2021 just around the corner, you may feel a desire to start a new healthy habit.  I am here to tell you you don't have to start that in January. You can start the process TODAY!! Below are 3 simple steps to help you be successful in creating and maintain a new healthy habit.

1) Choose an achievable goal and then make a plan. A well balanced person is not perfect in all areas, they recognize their strengths and limitations, choose one thing to work on instead of ALL the things. Maybe you have a few limitations that deserve no attention but there is one you could improve upon. 

2) Be consistent and understanding, pair your new healthy habit with an existing habit, this way it’s easier to remember. Also make sure to be kind and caring to yourself, negative self talk isn’t helpful, falling short on your goal one day, doesn’t have to ruin your entire week. Each day is an opportunity to try again. 

3) Know your why, it is important to be connected to your new healthy habit. Goals and intentions should align with your passion/purpose. When we try to change to meet others (family, friends, society) standards of who we should be, we are sure to fail long term
